A leading international company within the energy sector is looking for a Health & Safety professional to support the Operations & Maintenance of photovoltaic projects in the UK.

The role will be part of a dynamic, technical and project-driven environment, working closely with O&M, site operations and corporate teams to ensure high standards of Health & Safety performance across utility-scale PV assets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Health & Safety legislation, regulations and internal standards across O&M activities for photovoltaic assets in the UK.
  • Support the correct implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) within the assigned scope.
  • Monitor the effectiveness, compliance and performance of the Health & Safety management system, proposing and following up on corrective or preventive actions where required.
  • Promote compliance with Health & Safety rules and procedures aimed at eliminating or minimising risks during O&M activities, site interventions and contractor works.
  • Lead and coordinate periodic reviews of working conditions across PV plants and operational sites under their responsibility.
  • Lead investigations into work-related incidents, accidents or near misses, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the resulting corrective and preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable UK legal and regulatory Health & Safety requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and reviews related to the IMS, with particular focus on legal requirements, procedures and Health & Safety instructions.
  • Coordinate, support and monitor Health & Safety activities involving O&M teams, contractors and service providers.
  • Provide technical Health & Safety support and guidance to O&M, site operations and corporate teams.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Health & Safety processes, procedures, reporting and risk management practices across PV O&M operations.

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering, Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.

Other academic backgrounds may be considered depending on the candidate’s professional experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Health & Safety roles, preferably within energy, renewables, industrial operations or infrastructure environments.
  • Auditor qualification in ISO 45001 is required; ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 would be highly valued.
  • Experience working with Integrated Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • High level of English. Spanish or any other language would be an advantage.
