Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking primary school near the Stockton area. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join the team from September on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school, with a particular focus on SATs preparation. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, tracking progress, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a calm and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs) with confidence and structure
- Assess and monitor pupil progress regularly and provide effective feedback
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and staff to support student development
- Contribute to the wider school community and participate in staff meetings and CPD
Essential Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching in a Year 6 class
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation
- Proven ability to raise attainment and manage behaviour effectively
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
- A proactive and committed approach to teaching and learning
- ECTs will not be considered for this position due to the experience required by the school
