Salary: £82.92 - £109.07 per day

Contract: Full-time, Full Academic Year

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and highly supportive specialist primary SEND school in Wombourne for the full 2026/27 academic year, starting in September 2026.

In this rewarding role, you will support pupils aged 3-11 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory impairments

You will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and the wider support team to deliver personalised learning and provide both classroom and one-to-one support.

The successful candidate will help create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and achieve their individual goals. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with complex additional needs and making a genuine difference every day.

Requirements

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a UK school setting
  • Experience working with pupils with autism (ASC), SLD, PMLD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or sensory impairments is highly desirable
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with a variety of learning and communication needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
