We are currently recruiting multiple Teaching Assistants on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Witham, Essex. These positions are offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to secure a long-term career within a supportive and rewarding educational setting.
The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is seeking resilient, proactive and engaging individuals who can build strong relationships and make a genuine difference every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Sports Coaches, Residential Support Workers, Care Workers, Graduates and individuals with transferable skills who are looking to move into education.
The Role
- Supporting students who may present with social, emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage with learning, regulate emotions and achieve positive outcomes.
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Building positive, professional relationships with students.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
- Supporting behaviour management strategies.
- Encouraging participation, confidence and independence.
- Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Who We're Looking For
- Have experience working with children or young people.
- Have worked in SEN, SEMH, PRU, Alternative Provision, Youth Work, Care, Residential or Sports Coaching environments.
- Can remain calm, consistent and professional in challenging situations.
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Are passionate about helping young people reach their potential.
- Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential. Candidates with relevant transferable skills, strong interpersonal skills and the right attitude are encouraged to apply.

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
