Empowering Learning is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a lovely Primary School in Brent for a September 2026 start. This is a long‑term position until the end of the school year with the view of the role extending. You will be working in a Year 5 class providing support to the class teacher and preparing the classroom for lessons and activities. You will also support a group of children who need extra support in literacy and numeracy. The role requires excellent behaviour‑management skills, the ability to use your own initiative and a collaborative team‑working attitude. Strong subject knowledge is essential.
Responsibilities- Support the class teacher in preparing the classroom for lessons and activities.
- Provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to children needing extra assistance.
- Maintain a positive learning environment through effective behaviour management.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team and take initiative where appropriate.
- At least one year of experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS2.
- Excellent subject knowledge in literacy and numeracy.
- Recognised qualification up to Level 3 (desirable but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
