SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £90-£105 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: Temporary, ongoing

Hours: Full Time – 8:30am to 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Are you a calm, compassionate, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child\’s educational journey? Empowering Learning is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, PDA, and Dyslexia.

This role is based in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Aston, Birmingham, where staff work collaboratively to ensure every child reaches their full potential. You will play a key role in supporting the pupil\’s academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, addressing both learning and emotional needs

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to deliver EHCP targets

Adapt lesson materials and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement

Build a strong, trusting relationship and act as a consistent, positive role model

Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in all aspects of school life

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

Level 1 Safeguarding qualification

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
