Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established nursery in the Billingham/Thornaby area to recruit an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager for a permanent, full-time position starting in September.
We are seeking a dedicated childcare professional with previous experience managing a nursery setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the nursery team, maintaining high standards of care and education, and ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Ensure the highest standards of care, learning, and safeguarding are consistently maintained
- Support and develop staff through effective leadership, mentoring, and performance management
- Deliver a high-quality early years provision in line with the EYFS framework
- Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and learning journeys
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements, and OFSTED standards
- Oversee Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and nursery policies
- Drive continuous improvement through action planning and quality assurance
- Previous experience managing a nursery setting is essential
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and OFSTED expectations
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A positive and passionate approach to working with children and staff
- A full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or above in Early Years
