Empowering Learning is working with a special needs school in Long Eaton, who are recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with their dedicated and supportive team. The role is to start in May, if not earlier. You will be involved in classroom duties and off‑site recreational activities.

Duties

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement education health care plans for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
