Empowering Learning is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping pupils reach their full potential.
The Role
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, and communication difficulties.
- Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to help students access learning.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Support students with personal care where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, youth work or similar).
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
