Empowering Learning is working with a special needs school in Long Eaton, who are recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with their dedicated and supportive team. The role is to start as soon as possible. You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities. Duties – Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students. – Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism. – Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. – Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene. – Support students in their academic and social development. – Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement education health care plans for students. – Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher. – Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies. Skills – Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours. – Knowledge of special education practices and strategies. – Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues. – Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. – Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children. – Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours. – Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to supporting the educational needs of students. The teaching assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
