SEN Support Staff Wanted Across North Yorkshire

The Opportunities
- Our schools are looking for support staff to work with pupils with a wide range of needs, including:
- Autism / ASD
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Complex needs
- Communication difficulties
- Non-verbal pupils

- EHCP requirements
- Social, emotional and mental health needs
- Additional learning needs
You could be working as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, supporting a small group, or working alongside the class teacher within a specialist SEN provision.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing consistent 1:1 or small-group support.
- Helping pupils access the curriculum.
- Supporting learning and classroom activities.
- Encouraging independence and life skills.
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Developing positive relationships with pupils.
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider pastoral teams.
- Providing a calm, safe and inclusive environment.

- A professional approach to safeguarding.
- A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
