School Caretaker — Peterlee • ASAP start • Primary school site in Peterlee i t£13.68-£16.11 per hour • Immediate start (working throughout the summer holidays)
Empowering Learning Teesside are working with a school based in Peterlee who are looking for a Site Manager to work at a Primary school in Peterlee.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver all aspects of maintenance and health and safety relating to the School\\\’s buildings and grounds, including maintenance, security and facilities management on the school premises and site to ensure a safe environment for staff, pupils and visitors.
- Open and close the school; manage a split shift (6.30am–10.00am and 2.00pm–6.00pm).
- Supervise a team of premises and cleaning staff; determine staffing levels, assist with recruitment and selection, induct new staff, allocate workloads, train and manage performance.
- Assume overall responsibility for the smooth running of the building; supervise contractors on site; ensure security and management of security systems.
- Keep common areas clean and tidy; manage administrative tasks related to building and staff; provide written building reports every fourteen days to the Managing Agents.
- Monitor contractor presence and activities to minimise disturbance; sign off and record all works; conduct routine checks of the building, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and fire doors; carry out minor maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in general DIY, cleaning and maintenance; ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work strategically with staff and health and safety considerations.
