About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The position involves carrying out day-to-day site maintenance, security checks, and general caretaking duties to ensure the school premises are well maintained and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and/or locking the school premises as required.
- Conducting regular security and safety checks of buildings and grounds.
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting, and other building systems.
- Ensuring the school site is clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
- Supporting contractors and service providers working on site.
- Assisting with room setups for school events and activities.
- Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns promptly.
- Supporting emergency procedures when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience.
- Good practical skills and the ability to undertake minor repairs.
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently.
