Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a college supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with SEN students, ideally within a school, college, specialist education or care setting. You will be responsible for providing high-quality 1:1 and classroom support, helping students develop their independence, communication and learning skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEN students is essential
- Experience supporting students with complex needs is desirable
- Valid Hoisting Certificate is essential
- Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, caring and supportive approach
- Ability to work confidently as part of a wider SEN team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
The Role:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Supporting students with a range of additional needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting personal care and mobility where required
- Assisting with learning and classroom activities
- Supporting students to develop independence and life skills
- Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals
