We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join a dedicated SEN/SEMH provision in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional social, emotional and mental health support. The successful candidate will be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment, building strong relationships with students, and supporting them to achieve both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external agencies
  • Maintain high expectations for attendance, behaviour and achievement

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience working within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people

Safeguarding Requirements

  • An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is required
  • Applicants without one must be willing to obtain a new enhanced DBS prior to employment
