Graduate Teaching Assistants to join a supportive school in Islington, London.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about education and keen to gain valuable hands-on experience supporting children and young people with
SEND, particularly autism
You’ll work closely with teachers and pupils, providing both academic and pastoral support while helping to create an inclusive, positive and engaging learning environment.
Whether you’re considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, SEND or a related field, this role offers fantastic experience and opportunities to develop.
To be successful, you will
- Have a degree and a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
- Bring enthusiasm, patience and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Have an interest in SEND and/or experience supporting individuals with autism.
- Have experience working with children or young people through education, care, tutoring, mentoring, volunteering or similar settings.
- Be committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
- Be keen to develop your skills and pursue a career within education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Assisting students with their academic work and learning activities.
- Providing encouragement and helping pupils build confidence and independence.
- Supporting children both inside and outside the classroom.
- Working alongside teachers to prepare resources and activities.
- Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Providing additional support to pupils with SEND and autism where required.
