Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Barking & Dagenham from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with additional needs, challenging behaviour, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Working closely with teachers and therapists, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop positive behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support.
Build positive relationships with pupils who have SEND, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
Support students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
Encourage engagement in learning and promote independence.
Implement behaviour support plans and follow EHCP targets.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children or young people with SEND or challenging behaviour.
Calm, patient and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
