Location: Leeds, Garforth

Hours: 07:30AM to 09:30AM and 15:00PM to 18:00PM

Salary: £20,000 to £24,000 per year

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and energetic Before & After School Club Playworker to join our wraparound childcare team in Leeds. This is based at a primary school in Garforth LS25. If you enjoy working with children, creating fun activities and helping children feel safe, happy and included, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Playworker, you will help provide a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment for children aged 4-11 before and after the school day. You'll support a range of exciting activities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, sports, cooking and imaginative play, while ensuring every child is cared for and encouraged to develop confidence and friendships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in fun, age-appropriate activities.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
  • Support children's wellbeing, independence and social development.
  • Prepare and serve healthy breakfasts and/or snacks.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and club policies at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Assist with setting up and tidying away equipment each day.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Passionate about working with children.
  • A great communicator and team player.
  • Creative, energetic and able to use their own initiative.
  • Flexible and committed to providing high-quality childcare.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery, clubs, sports coaching or similar).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or a related subject.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Food Hygiene and Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete training).
