Humanities Teacher – Full/Part Time

Location: Middlesbrough

Start date: ASAP

Salary: £(Apply online only) per day

The school is ambitious, with high expectations for all pupils, providing a knowledge‑based academic curriculum alongside a rich and diverse leadership programme that fosters character, charitable and social action. The successful teacher will join a high‑performing network of primary and secondary schools and help drive educational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for humanities subject development and lead training programmes.
  • Enhance humanities pedagogy and practice across the school.
  • Deliver exceptional, engaging, and ambitious lessons, supporting colleagues to grow their practice.
  • Ensure outstanding teaching for learning that meets the needs of all students.
  • Support the school in raising teaching and learning standards, monitoring progress toward agreed aims.
  • Offer specialist subject expertise to departmental staff as appropriate.
  • Hold colleagues to account through teaching and learning programmes.
  • Assist with the implementation of agreed whole‑school policies and initiatives.
  • Plan and facilitate professional learning workshops as requested.

Successful Candidate

  • Hold a teaching qualification.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Exhibit excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Have experience of lesson observations and providing robust feedback.
  • Have experience of improvement planning.
  • Be capable of implementing strategies that raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
  • Demonstrate impact on the quality of learning, teaching and curriculum.
  • Show a proven track record of excellent KS3/4 results.
  • Maintain high‑quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
