Are you an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Hackney, London? Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a happy Primary School in Hackney for a September 2026 start. This is a long-term position until the end of the school year with the view of the role extending.
You will be working in a KS1 class providing support to the class teacher and preparing the classroom for lessons and activities. As well as supporting across the classroom, you will be required to support a group of children who need extra support in literacy and numeracy. You need to have excellent behaviour management skills and always prioritise the children's interests and progress. RWI phonics training is an advantage but not essential.
As a Teaching Assistant for this role, you will have the following:
- At least 1 year's experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS1
- Must have excellent subject knowledge in literacy and numeracy
- A recognised qualification up to Level 3 - this is desirable but not a must
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Passion for learning
