Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive school environment? Available to work full time, 5 days a week between the hours of 8.30-3.30?
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN TA to work with one of our schools to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in both Primary/Secondary schools across Darlington.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
- Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
- Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and communication
- Use a range of strategies and interventions to meet individual needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or other relevant settings)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, or equivalent – desirable but not essential
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
