Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ability to teach English across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Passion for literature, language, and literacy development
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Commitment to raising attainment and promoting a love of reading and writing

Desirable

  • Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Ability to teach KS5 English (not essential)
  • ECT/NQT applications welcome
  • Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales

Essential Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Two professional references
