Empowering Learning are currently working with a number of Mainstream Schools and SEND Schools in Enfield, North London and surrounding boroughs all looking to recruit Learning Support Assistants for the next academic year.
Job Specifications:
- Location: Harrow, Northwest London
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (Full-Time, Term Time Only)
- Support: SEND Schools and/or Mainstream Schools
- Type of Support: 1:1 Support and Small Group Support
The Learning Support Assistant will be required to support learners with EHCPs who have support and learning needs. Students range from those with moderate learning disabilities, Autistic spectrum, social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The role will have elements of 1-1 support as well as group work to help achieve the academic needs of these students. Working with the wider ALS team, the role will involve creating relationships with students that encourages their academic, emotional and social growth.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience supporting children, adults or the elderly with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in a professional or personal capacity.
- Ability to support and encourage high levels of social skills and demonstrate learning techniques.
- Must be able to commit to a full-time role on a long-term basis working Monday to Friday.
- Patient, empathetic and supportive.
- Ability to understand the needs of students and provide appropriate support.
- Must be able to work on a 1:1 basis but also in small groups.
