Empowering Learning is recruiting an Early Career Teacher (ECT), HLTA or experienced Behaviour Mentor to support pupils at a welcoming, double-form-entry primary school in Denton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT looking for a primary school job in Denton or Tameside who would like to develop their classroom management, intervention and behaviour-support experience before moving into a class teacher position.

The school is led by an excellent and supportive headteacher and forms part of a successful, growing multi-academy trust. The initial placement will run until February 2027, although there is a strong possibility that it could be extended for the full academic year.

The role

Working across the primary age range, you will:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils requiring help with behaviour and engagement.
  • Deliver individual and small-group interventions.
  • Help pupils regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
  • Support pupils with their learning inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and senior leaders.
  • Provide classroom and lesson cover where appropriate.
  • Help pupils successfully reintegrate into classroom learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Who we're looking for

This ECT, HLTA or Behaviour Mentor role in Denton would suit someone who:

  • Is an Early Career Teacher with QTS seeking further primary school experience.
  • Holds HLTA status or has relevant classroom and behaviour-support experience.
  • Can build positive and consistent relationships with children.
  • Has strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
  • Is calm, resilient and able to establish clear boundaries.
  • Works effectively as part of a supportive school team.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for pupils.

This is not currently advertised as an ECT induction post, but it could provide an ECT with valuable experience within a supportive primary school and growing academy trust.

Why apply?

  • Excellent opportunity for an ECT to strengthen their classroom experience.
  • Supportive and approachable headteacher.
  • Welcoming, double-form-entry primary school.
  • Opportunity to work across different year groups.
  • Potential extension for the full academic year.
  • Experience within a growing multi-academy trust.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Empowering Learning consultant.
