  • British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join their support team from

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference by supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a further education setting.

The Role

  • Provide communication support for students using British Sign Language (BSL).
  • Interpret lessons and classroom discussions accurately and professionally.
  • Support students both within the classroom and during college activities.
  • Work closely with lecturers, the SEND team, and external professionals to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and academic progress.
  • Assist with preparing learning materials and adapting resources where required.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a recognised
  • BSL qualification

(Level 2 or above - Level 3 preferred).

  • Has previous experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired learners.
  • Has experience working within education, ideally in a college or secondary setting.
  • Is patient, compassionate, and committed to inclusive education.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one).
