Empowering Learning is currently seeking a reliable and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support a local Walsall school within their resource base. This role is based in a warm and inclusive primary school located in Walsall, offering a supportive team environment and a strong focus on individual pupil development. You'll work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external agencies to provide targeted support and help the child thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 tailored support to a pupil with SEN, helping to meet their educational and emotional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and specialists to implement EHCP targets effectively
- Modify lesson materials and resources to ensure accessibility
- Build trusting relationships with the child and act as a consistent and positive presence
- Support the pupil's participation, confidence, and engagement in all aspects of school life
Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in our client's school you will:
- Have prior experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification
- Have a Level 1 Safeguarding qualification
- Exhibit a patient, nurturing, and adaptable attitude
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
