Position – 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant
Location – Havering
Full time – Monday to Friday 8.30am till 3.30pm
As a 1:1 primary teaching assistant, your main role is to support the learning and development of a specific student within a classroom setting. This student may have special educational needs or require additional support to meet their learning goals.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver appropriate learning activities and interventions for the student.
- Providing one-to-one support to the students during lessons, helping them to understand concepts and complete tasks.
- Monitoring and recording the student\’s progress and reporting back to the teacher
- Adapting resources and materials to meet the student\’s individual needs
- Supporting the student with their social and emotional development
- Liaising with parents and other professionals involved in the student\’s care, such as educational psychologists or speech therapists.
To be an effective 1-2-1 primary teaching assistant, you should have good communication skills, be patient and understanding, and be able to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals. You should also have a good understanding of child development and be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual students.
