About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach to join a dedicated special educational needs (SEN) school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about sport and making a positive impact on young people with additional needs. You will deliver engaging physical activities and support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The role involves both leading structured sports sessions and supporting students throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inclusive sports and physical activity sessions
- Support students in developing teamwork, confidence, and physical skills
- Work alongside teaching staff to support learning in the classroom when required
- Use sport as a tool to promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of students
- Help create a safe, fun, and supportive environment
Requirements:
- Experience coaching sports or working with young people
- A positive, energetic, and patient approach
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students with additional needs
- Relevant coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
