We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist low-level SEN school in Reddish (SK5). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils and teaching staff to provide individualised support, encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with additional and special educational needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Assisting pupils with their learning, development and communication
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Working closely with teachers and other members of the support team
- Creating a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with children or young people with SEN
- Patient, compassionate and resilient
- Confident supporting pupils with a range of needs
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- A strong communicator and team player
- Passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives
- Previous experience within an SEN, specialist school or similar setting is highly desirable.
