Empowering Learning is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a lively primary school in Hackney, London. This long-term role supports a Year 5 class, preparing lessons, and assisting children who need extra support in literacy and numeracy. The position requires excellent behaviour management, initiative, teamwork, and strong subject knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and preparing the classroom for activities.
  • Provide individual and group support to children needing extra help in literacy and numeracy.
  • Manage behaviour, use own initiative, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS2.
  • Excellent subject knowledge in literacy and numeracy.
  • Recognised qualification up to Level 3 (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relationship building skills.
