Empowering Learning is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Redbridge for an experienced and driven Head of Economics and Business to join their team in January 2027.
The Role
- Lead and manage the Economics and Business department, setting the vision and direction for teaching and learning
- Deliver high-quality lessons across GCSE Business and A-Level Economics and Business
- Develop and review schemes of work, assessment strategies and curriculum planning
- Monitor and analyse student progress data, implementing intervention where needed
- Line manage, support and develop colleagues within the department
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives, CPD and wider school improvement
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status - essential
- A strong Economics and/or Business subject specialist with proven classroom results
- Experience in a middle or senior leadership role - or a teacher who is genuinely ready to make that step
- Confident delivering at both GCSE and A-Level
- Ambitious, driven and passionate about raising standards and developing a department
- Excellent communication, organisation and people management skills
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
