EmpowerED is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Slough, supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping pupils with complex needs thrive in a nurturing, specialist environment.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Slough, you'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals, providing personalised support that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Support pupils with PMLD, complex learning needs and physical disabilities throughout the school day.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning and care plans.
- Assist with communication, sensory activities and engaging learning experiences.
- Support pupils with personal care, mobility and medical needs where required (training can be provided).
- Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and confident.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to provide outstanding care and education.
The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant.
- Experience supporting children or adults with PMLD, complex needs, autism, physical disabilities or additional learning needs.
- A calm, compassionate and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
