EmpowerED is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist primary school in Reading, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Reading, you will work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Help deliver personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
  • Encourage pupils to develop social skills, resilience and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
