This is an excellent opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Reading, you will work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
- Support pupils with SEMH needs both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, emotional regulation and engagement.
- Help deliver personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
- Encourage pupils to develop social skills, resilience and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Care Worker or Support Worker.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
