EmpowerED is recruiting a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Reading, supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with complex learning and physical needs.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Reading, you'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals to provide personalised support that enables every pupil to reach their full potential.
The RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with PMLD, complex learning needs and physical disabilities throughout the school day.
- Assist with communication, sensory activities and personalised learning programmes.
- Support pupils with mobility, personal care and medical needs where required (full training provided if needed).
- Encourage engagement, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to deliver outstanding, child-centred support.
- Celebrate every achievement, no matter how big or small.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant.
- Experience supporting children or adults with PMLD, complex needs, autism, physical disabilities or additional learning needs.
- A caring, patient and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with the most complex needs.
