Empowered Personnel is recruiting a Senior Operations Manager for a rapidly growing e-commerce fulfilment business. This is an exceptional opportunity to work closely with the founding leadership team and play a pivotal role in the next phase of operational growth and development. As one of the fastest-growing e-commerce fulfilment providers, our client delivers world-class service from fulfilment centres across the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and Australia.
This Senior Operations Manager role offers full autonomy, taking complete responsibility for day-to-day operations, leading teams, improving processes and ensuring service levels are consistently achieved across all clients. This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to an individual who thrives on accountability, operational excellence and building scalable systems. You will drive productivity, maintain full health and safety compliance, and uphold high levels of client satisfaction, while supporting the business's broader growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Operations Manager- Operations Leadership: Take ownership of warehouse and fulfilment performance, achieving KPIs for accuracy, efficiency and cost control. Oversee all inbound, outbound, inventory and despatch operations, maintaining exceptional service standards. Lead, coach and develop warehouse team leaders and operatives, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Plan labour, shift patterns and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Process and Systems Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, accuracy and cost efficiency. Maximise the use of the Warehouse Management System by improving adoption, data accuracy and utilisation. Regularly review operational workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable improvements.
- Client Service and Stakeholder Management: Act as the operational point of contact for key clients, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded. Oversee client onboarding and integration into the fulfilment operation. Proactively monitor order fulfilment, inventory accuracy and dispatch performance, resolving issues before escalation. Prepare and present operational performance reports and insights to clients and senior management.
- Strategic Growth: Work closely with the founding leadership team to deliver the operational growth strategy. Support strategic initiatives including international expansion, new service offerings and site development projects. Work with operational leaders across UK and international sites to standardise processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Proven experience managing warehouse or fulfilment operations within logistics or e-commerce environments.
- Strong people management skills, with experience leading supervisors or team leaders.
- Solid understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and warehouse automation; Mintsoft experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance cost control and service excellence.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Operations, Business or Supply Chain is desirable but not essential.
