We have two locations in the Wakefield and Newport, RI markets and are currently searching for Massage Therapist to support both locations.
To excel in this position, you must have good communication skills, be self-motivated, well organized, and willing to provide clients with exceptional customer care. The Massage Therapist hired for this position should be eager to expand his/her knowledge base to include services and product lines we carry and be comfortable recommending these to meet our client’s needs.
Position Overview
As a Massage Therapist, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality care and exceptional client experiences. You’ll provide a range of therapeutic massage services - including signature, deep tissue, lymphatic, trigger point, and Swedish techniques - tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Your ability to blend clinical skill with compassionate care will help clients achieve their wellness and relaxation goals. This role also requires a commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and licensing requirements.
Position Structure
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You will earn 50% of the revenue from service sales that you personally perform. Service pricing can be customized, but must receive prior approval from the SeaMist MedSpa management team.
- A minimum commitment of two days per week is required - one day at our Wakefield location and one day at our Newport location.
- Both SeaMist MedSpa locations in Wakefield and Newport, RI
- Perform Massage Services: Provide a variety of massage treatments—including Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, trigger point, and signature techniques—based on client needs and preferences.
- Conduct Consultations: Greet clients warmly and conduct brief pre-treatment consultations to understand goals, assess contraindications, and recommend appropriate services.
- Maintain Treatment Room Standards: Ensure the massage space is clean, sanitized, and well-stocked before and after each client in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Build Client Relationships: Establish trust through consistent, high-quality care and thoughtful communication. Maintain detailed client notes for future reference.
- Educate & Recommend: Provide aftercare guidance and recommend follow-up treatments or relevant wellness products, as appropriate.
- Support Scheduling & Client Flow: Coordinate with the front desk or booking platform to manage your daily schedule, stay on time for each appointment, and accommodate walk-ins or add-ons when possible.
- Collaborate with Team: Maintain open communication with estheticians, front desk, and management to ensure a seamless client experience and support cross-referrals.
- Adhere to Policies: Follow all SeaMist MedSpa protocols, including client confidentiality, safety standards, and documentation procedures.
- Contribute to Positive Environment: Bring a professional, upbeat energy to the space; support a welcoming, client-first culture.
- Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist.
- 2+ years of experience working as a Massage Therapist in a spa setting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of skincare products preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Empathetic approach towards patient needs and concerns.
