Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of both HideOut in Gorton, Manchester, and Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) in Pendleton, Salford. Open 7 days a week, the Youth Zone offers a free hot meal and over 20 activities every night for just 50p per visit for young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 with additional needs.
As the Coordinator responsible for inclusion in the delivery team, you will ensure their award-winning Provision for young people continues to develop and thrive. Over the last three years, a great deal of work has been carried out to ensure HideOut’s youth provision is inclusive, supports community cohesion, and provides an environment where members from diverse demographics, ethnic communities, and those with additional needs or disabilities feel safe, involved, and welcome.
This role will include some evening and weekend work, 40 hours a week across five days. You will play a key role in ensuring the youth zone continues to create new pathways and opportunities for their members to learn life skills through various projects, such as their Mentoring Scheme, Employability, AQA’s, and Duke of Edinburgh.
You will have a hands-on role with the activities that take place run by the Youth Workers; ensuring that each session is inclusive to all and tailoring the programmes to the diverse needs of its members. You will be working directly with the young people, youth workers, volunteers and parents to support their involvement and participation. This is an integral role to ensure the empowerment of each individual, ensuring they have a voice and become young leaders for their communities.

- Significant experience of successful inclusion work
- A strong understanding of safeguarding
- Strong experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) analysis and reporting
- Experience developing and executing successful training programmes
