Manufacturing Shift Manager – Night Shift Location: West LothianSalary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE + BenefitsShift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off | 12-hour nights (7pm-7am)Employment Type: Full-time | PermanentEmpower Talent is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking FMCG manufacturing business currently undergoing strong growth and innovation. With product quality, wellbeing, and customer satisfaction at the core of their ethos, this business is leading the way in its sector – and now offers a brilliant opportunity for a driven Shift Manager to join their night operations team.This is a key leadership position on site, responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and team performance. You\’ll be the senior contact during night operations, taking ownership of site performance and incident management during out-of-hours periods.Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and support your team to achieve operational KPIs and engagement goalsOversee hygiene and changeover processes to ensure efficiency and complianceManage team training and development in line with operational requirementsMaintain a safe working environment through strong adherence to health & safety standardsConduct investigations and lead on incident reporting where necessaryChampion GMP and \”clean as you go\” practices to meet hygiene standardsControl raw material usage using SAP and contribute to cost-saving initiativesMonitor and report on shift performance, conduct thorough handovers, and escalate issues appropriatelyDeliver production in line with the supply chain plan and proactively resolve issuesSupport and lead CI projects across the manufacturing functionWhat We\’re Ideally Looking For Strong people management skills – able to engage, drive performance and develop othersPrevious experience in a manufacturing/production leadership role (minimum 2 years)Familiarity with fast‐paced FMCG environmentsExcellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and lead a team effectivelyGood IT proficiency, especially with ExcelExperience working 24/7 shifts or 12‐hour shift patternsFood manufacturing or BRC backgroundMRP system experienceWhat\’s in it for You Competitive salary £35,000–£40,000 DOE24 days annual leave (including bank holidays)Company pension – 4% employer contributionLife assurance (4x base salary)Sick pay & Employee Assistance Programme (including online GP access)Perks at Work – discounts with major retailersFree on‐site parkingThis role would suit an experienced Shift or Production Manager – or a skilled Supervisor ready to step into a larger leadership role.
