Empower Talent is recruiting a Controls Engineer for a large food manufacturing site in Glasgow. This is a hands-on role on a live production site - ideal for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, solving problems, and improving how automated lines actually run.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems across high-speed production lines
- Fault-finding and improving Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controlled equipment
- Supporting shift engineers with automation issues and developing their capability
- Identifying and delivering improvements to reliability, safety and output
- Supporting commissioning and upgrades to existing machinery
- Acting as the go-to person on site for more complex controls issues
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a Controls Engineer or automation-focused role within manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs (or similar with willingness to learn)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
- Hands-on approach - someone who enjoys fault finding and improving systems
- Food/FMCG experience is ideal, but not essential
