Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the procurement function, leading supplier strategy, commercial negotiations and cost management while managing and developing a small procurement team of two.
This is a key role within the business and would suit a commercially focused procurement professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced FMCG, food manufacturing or retail environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the procurement function across the operation.
Manage, support and develop a team of two within procurement.
Identify, select and develop suppliers and strategic supply partners.
Lead commercial negotiations across pricing, contracts, terms and service levels.
Manage competitive tendering and supplier selection processes.
Lead contract renewals and regular commercial and supplier performance reviews.
Develop strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers while ensuring the business remains commercially protected.
Identify and deliver cost-saving and value-improvement opportunities.
Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service and delivery.
Support forecasting, budgeting and ongoing cost-control activities.
Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and other internal stakeholders.
Support procurement activity across the wider business, embedding clear processes, guidelines and best practice.
Utilise ERP systems to manage procurement information, reporting and supplier data.
Identify potential supply risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
About You We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with a strong commercial mindset and the confidence to take ownership of a busy procurement function.
Ideally, you will have: Previous experience in a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Category Manager or similar senior procurement position.
Experience gained within FMCG, food manufacturing, retail or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
A proven track record of delivering cost savings and commercial improvements.
Experience managing and developing suppliers and strategic partners.
Previous people-management or team-leadership experience.
Strong analytical skills with experience of budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
