Purpose of Role

Manage the day-to-day operations of a supported accommodation home in line with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023, Ofsted Quality Standards, and Empowerhouse's Statement of Purpose. You will lead a team to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support for young people aged 16+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Oversee daily operations, manage staff rotas, provide supervision, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Compliance & Records: Ensure audit readiness, manage risk assessments, support plans, and adhere to GDPR and Ofsted requirements.
  • Safeguarding: Prioritize young people's welfare, enforce safety protocols, and manage incident reporting and de-escalation.
  • Young People's Development: Facilitate independent living skills, education, employment, and resident decision-making.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with social workers, families, and external agencies for professional meetings and reviews.
  • Financial & Household Oversight: Support young people with budgeting and benefits; maintain home standards, hygiene, and fire safety.
  • Team Development: Deliver staff supervisions, identify training needs, and foster a positive, inclusive culture.

Essential Requirements

  • Mandatory: Must hold or be actively working towards a Level 5 qualification in Children, Young People and Families Manager in Residential Care.
  • 23 years' experience in supported accommodation, residential care, or youth work.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, mental health, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in behaviour management and conflict resolution.
  • Strong IT skills and experience in record keeping.
  • Proven track record of leadership within supported housing or residential teams.
  • Willingness to fulfil on-call and out-of-hours responsibilities.

Desirable

  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards one).
  • Familiarity with Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023 and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspection or regulatory audit processes.
