Join Empower Family Group, a familyârun fostering agency founded by Foster Carers for Foster Carers, as a partâtime Clinical Practitioner. This role offers the opportunity to apply therapeutic expertise across a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the safety and wellâbeing of children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic consultation and support to foster carers.
- Offer clinical advice and guidance to social workers, managers and support workers.
- Contribute to and shape therapeutic care plans for children and young people.
- Deliver training on attachment, therapeutic parenting, and the impact of childhood trauma.
- Support Children's Registered Managers to foster a traumaâinformed culture across services.
- Maintain current knowledge of research, policy and best practice for vulnerable children and young people.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised therapeutic or counselling qualification.
- Membership of (or eligibility to register with) BACP or a similar professional body.
- Experience working therapeutically with children and families.
- Understanding of complex developmental trauma, insecure attachment and therapeutic approaches.
- Confidence in writing therapeutic reports.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams (desirable if the teams hold and manage risk for children and young people).
- Flexible, openâminded and pragmatic problemâsolving approach.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, compromise and be creative.
- Full UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel to foster families across the region.
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

- Applicants must have an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not protected.
