Quantock Outdoor Education is an alternative education provision delivering high quality learning and outdoor experiences for children and young people with additional learning needs and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Our skilled team devise and deliver bespoke learning programmes designed specifically to support the needs of our vulnerable young people and work closely with schools across the Southwest to deliver an all-inclusive education provision. We place our young people at the centre of what we do and aim to make the National Curriculum accessible to all.

We are looking for a dynamic youth support worker specialising in outdoor learning to join our growing team. You will have experience of working with children and young people. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, that can positively engage and motivate young people, irrespective of their level of needs.

You will be responsible for and lead in the planning and delivery of bespoke outdoor education packages for a range of age groups and needs, ensuring the provision of safe, healthy, and stimulating environments. We are looking for a flexible and committed individual, passionate about empowering children and young people.

You'll work in a combination of offices, classrooms, and the outdoor environments. This role is during term time only to support schools between the hours of 08:30am - 16:30pm, Monday - Friday, however, this can change dependent on the needs of the business and whether school holiday programmes are coordinated.

This role is subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
