Mechanic / Fitter Job description At Tomato Plant, the health, safety and welfare of our people and our customers is priority.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Mechanic/Fitter to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and general fleet of vans and associate equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HGVs, trailers, and associated equipment.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
Conduct MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
Maintain accurate service records and complete job cards.
Respond to breakdowns and carry out roadside repairs when necessary.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop.
Liaise with drivers and operations staff to report vehicle issues and plan maintenance schedules.
