We are seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Inspection Technician to join our onshore inspection team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will carry out detailed inspections of onshore wind turbines to assess structural integrity, mechanical condition, and safety compliance. This role is ideal for a technician with proven wind industry experience, strong inspection capability, and a safety-first approach.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and reactive inspections of onshore wind turbines
- Carry out visual and close-up inspections of service lifts, cranes, pressure systems and turbine mounted safety equipment
- Identify and assess defects and report findings
- Accurately record inspection findings using digital reporting systems
- Capture photographic evidence and measurements where required
- Work in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and UKAS inspection body requirements
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to supervisors, engineers, and clients
- Maintain inspection tools, PPE, and certifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in onshore wind turbine inspection
- Btec Level 3 Qualification in a Mechanical/ Engineering related field (or equivalent)
- Sound knowledge of wind turbine components and inspection techniques to LOLLER, PUWER & PSSR Regulations
- Experience working at height
- Valid GWO certifications (or willingness to maintain): Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Medical/ Fitness to Work Certificate
- Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel to onshore sites and work away from home as required
- Competent/ Authorised Technician Certification
- Current Lift/ Crane Maintenance Certification
- PSSR Inspection experience or certification
- Mechanical or electrical background
- LEEA Membership (or working towards)
- Experience with digital inspection or asset management systems
- Strong safety culture and risk awareness
- Physically fit and comfortable working at height and outdoors
- Professional, reliable, and self-motivated
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear communicator with good time-management skills
