The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant / Intermediate MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. The role is based in our Watford office, with regular travel to London and surrounding areas to attend client offices and live construction sites. You will support the commercial delivery of MEP packages, typically working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Mechanical & Electrical Contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Measurement and quantification of MEP works from drawings and specifications (take-offs)
- Tendering and procurement of MEP packages
- Preparation of subcontract enquiries and analysis of returns
- Payment applications and upstream account management
- Cost reporting (CVR), forecasting and cashflow management
- Subcontractor procurement and downstream account management
- Change management (variations) both upstream and downstream
- Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accounts
- Attendance at client and site commercial meetings
Skills & Experience
- Experience working on M&E / MEP projects preferred
- Strong ambition to develop a long-term career in MEP Quantity Surveying
- Candidates from a technical M&E background looking to transition into Quantity Surveying are encouraged
- Ideally experience working for an M&E main contractor or specialist subcontractor
- Strong post-contract experience highly valued
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor (Assistant to Intermediate level)
- Commutable to Watford and willing to travel regularly into London
- Eligible to work in the UK
- CSCS Card holder
- Degree (or equivalent qualification)
- MRICS or working towards
- Strong numerical and IT skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
