Marble & Stone Restorer / General Operative Thornhill Galleries is a small business that specialises in antique, reproduction and bespoke fireplaces, based in New Malden (KT3). We are currently looking to add to the team and require someone with marble and/or stone working experience. Please see an outline of the role requirements below. Although we dont expect applicants to be experienced in all of the items below, a background of working with marble/stone is a requirement. The applicant would ideally have a full driving license and be comfortable driving a long wheel-based van.
Role Outline Stone and marble work to include cutting and polishing fireplace hearths and slips, polishing and preparing stone / marble fireplaces. (Training will be supplied but any previous experience of working with machinery should be mentioned upon application).
Deliveries and collections in company van.
Assisting our fireplace installer with offsite fireplace fixing as required.
Warehouse management:
Manage pallet racking and restoration area and car park pallet racking
Unpacking fireplaces and accessories from shipping crates
Driving forklift (relevant training will be provided)
Unloading and loading deliveries and collections
Cleaning and maintaining bench saw and dust extraction units
Weekly rubbish and recycling collections
General cleaning and tiding of the workshops, pallet racking, car park and other communal areas
Showroom Management:
Standing up / taking down fireplaces
Recording stock locations of fireplaces and accessories accurately
General cleaning and tiding of the showroom
Prospective Applicants Must Have at least one years of experience with stone and/or marble work.
Have a full drivers licence and be confident to drive the company van
Ideally have experience in driving a forklift
Experience in heavy lifting
Have a positive attitude and complete tasks quickly and efficiently
Be thorough and have very good attention to detail
Be trustworthy
Be good communicators on phone/text
Have a pleasant manner with colleagues and customers
Have exceptional timekeeping
Be wanting full time employment for an extended period of time
Further Details 40 working hours per week (Usually 8.30am
5:00pm which includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
£17 per hour. Possibly more if the applicant has very good experience.

On site parking is offered
Based in New Malden/Kingston area (KT3).
