Architectural Glazing & Cladding Designer Anglian Architectural
is a leading specialist in commercial glazing, curtain walling and faade solutions. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Architectural Glazing & Cladding Designer to join our established Design Team based at our offices in Great Massingham, Norfolk. Working on commercial projects ranging from £5k to £5M, you will play a key role in delivering technically compliant, buildable design solutions from concept through to manufacture and installation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated designer looking to work on a varied portfolio of commercial faade projects within a supportive and experienced team. The Designer
role will include, but is not limited to:- Designing aluminium glazing, curtain walling, window, door and cladding systems using suppliers' technical manuals, including Schco, Aluprof and Reynaers. Producing accurate general arrangement, fabrication and workshop drawings for in-house manufacture using AutoCAD; Managing the design process from project award through to completion, ensuring programmes and budgets are achieved; Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring design records are kept up to date Liaising with Estimating, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management and Installation teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and commercially; Reviewing client specifications and technical information, identifying discrepancies and proposing practical design solutions where appropriate Attending design coordination meetings with Main Contractors, Architects & Clients; Comparing tender drawings with subsequent revisions, identifying design changes and highlighting potential commercial implications to the Estimating Team; Raising purchase requests and supporting the Purchasing function where required; and Assisting the Projects Team with weekly updates on drawing progress to facilitate early communication with Main Contractor Teams and maintain programmes. - with Design experience within the market sector, working with curtain walling, cladding, windows and doors; Strong AutoCAD skills; Experience working with systems such as Schco, Aluprof and Reynaers (similar systems will also be considered); Knowledge of system estimating software eg: Schucal, Logikal would be an advantageous (experience of other systems acceptable); Excellent understanding of technical drawings and construction details; Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to design; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; and A collaborative approach and the confidence to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and clients.
