Who are we? Accurate Laser Cutting Ltd are a leading sheet metal sub-contractor based in Oldbury, West Midlands. Established in 2005, we offer a bespoke laser cutting and forming service to a wide range of industries across the UK. Our Laser department is an exciting, varied and busy environment. We deal with various engineering sectors and materials, so the day-to-day role will always be diverse. Our convenient location, just on the outskirts of Dudley, West Midlands, means our premises are easily accessible via bus, car & train.
What are we looking for from a Nightshift Laser Supervisor?
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience within a manufacturing environment
- Must have previous experience operating and setting laser cutting machinery
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processing and laser cutting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently
- Punctual, reliable and flexible
- Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
- Ability to motivate and support a small production team
- Willing to continually learn and develop skills
- Ideally hold a counterbalance FLT licence
What will your duties be working as a Nightshift Laser Supervisor?
- Supervise and support the nightshift Laser team to ensure production targets are achieved
- Set and operate laser cutting machinery
- Ensure machines are running efficiently and production schedules are followed
- Monitor product quality and ensure all required quality checks are completed
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and production paperwork
- Carry out first-off and in-process quality inspections
- Ensure materials and jobs are correctly identified and processed
- Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed
- Manage and prioritise workload throughout the shift
- Liaise with the dayshift team to ensure an effective handover
- Support and train team members where required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Report any machine, quality or production issues to management
You will be working as part of a small but fast-paced production team, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the Laser department throughout the nightshift.
Working Hours: 6PM - 6AM Monday - Thursday
